Fulton 58 School District
Fulton, Missouri
In 2020, The Architects Alliance was selected to provide design services for Fulton 58 School District’s $27.5 million bond issue. Early in the process, our firm assisted the district and facilities committee with Construction Manager RFQ’s, interviews, and selection. Working closely with the CM, we prioritized the district’s budget and schedule to make their goals a reality. Scope includes a multi-phase approach for renovations, additions, and new construction to early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school facilities.
PHASE I- ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Phase I included a fast-paced design and construction process to implement security upgrades over the course of a summer across all three elementary schools. Priorities included secure vestibules, access control, and eliminating unnecessary entry points. General maintenance also took place throughout, such as automatic sensor plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment upgrades, and exterior envelope maintenance. Design began in the fall of 2020, and construction was completed over the course of summer 2021.
PHASE II- HIGH SCHOOL
A 34,000 SF addition to the existing high school consisted of a new competition gym, public restrooms, locker rooms, secure vestibule, lobby spaces, and administrative offices. Interior renovations upgraded the choir room and art spaces. The existing 250-seat auditorium received new finishes, seating, curtains, theatrical lighting, and sound systems. General maintenance also took place throughout, such as automatic sensor plumbing fixtures and electrical equipment upgrades. Construction was completed in January of 2023.
PHASE III- MIDDLE SCHOOL
Completed in 2023, the Middle School scope includes an 8-classroom addition, new secure vestibule, and interior upgrades throughout the building. Gym Floor leveling of a standalone, community-used gym building was designed, but ultimately deemed not to be a priority for the district at this time.
PHASEIV- EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
This project consists of an addition of 10 kindergarten classrooms, a new main entrance with a secure vestibule, administration space, a nurse’s suite, a multi-purpose space to be used as a dual-purpose cafeteria and physical education area, a commercial kitchen, and public restrooms. Construction was completed in 2024.
