The Architects Alliance was retained by Missouri Soybean to provide a Preliminary Architectural and Site Analysis comparing renovation of existing facilities to new construction on several potential building sites in Jefferson City and Columbia.

Once the site along South Country Club Drive was selected, final design began for a new headquarters & education building to serve the Missouri Soybean Association and Merchandising Council. The program includes private offices, open workstations, a storm shelter, a variety of meeting spaces, as well as a large, flexible education and event space. A 100+ seat meeting/training room is often used for community events and program outreach. The building itself serves as a learning tool, showcasing soy-based products such as a biofuel-powered furnace and soy-based insulation, carpeting, countertops, paint, and turf.

The materials and form of the building are indicative of the agricultural industry and the farmers these organizations represent. Design elements include exposed mechanical and structural systems and durable finishes. A strong emphasis was placed on occupant comfort through the use of natural daylighting, views to nature, enhanced lighting control systems, low VOC materials, native plantings, and walking trails on-site.
