Cole County EMS
Cole County
11,500 square feet
Jefferson City, Missouri
A new standalone facility provided much-needed coverage and faster response times to one of the highest call volume areas in the County.
The Architects Alliance involvement began with programming, preliminary design, site feasibility study, and grant writing assistance. After award of the CDBG grant, the design team completed design of the facility, including 3 ambulance bays, administrative offices, living quarters, and a hardened training room which can double as a storm shelter. The facility is on a centrally located property already owned by Cole County with convenient access to major vehicular thoroughfares. The design responded to the limited lot size and sloped site with a two-story building and drive-through ambulance bays. The exterior materials and features complement the adjacent Cole County Law Enforcement Center and other County facilities located in downtown Jefferson City. The building includes security and station alert systems, a generator, and separate circulation for the public, administrative staff, and emergency responder personnel.
